A few words about the car:

Mark pursued the purchase of this car in December 2013, however was not quick enough to close the deal with Randy Pauly. Mark's wife provided a list of reasons why he didn't need another Corvette, particularly a race car. A few days later, the car was sold to Mike Terry. Mark's wife then provided Mark with a list of reasons why he should have purchased the car! A month later, Mark and Mike crossed paths at the NCRS Winter Regionals in Kissimmee, FL. Within a few minutes of their meeting, Mark and Mike closed a deal for #27. The car was still with Randy Pauly in California, and Mark personally made the trip to California to spend some time with Randy and pick up #27. Since, Mark has thoroughly enjoyed both the restoration of #27, as well as displaying it at the C4/ZR-1 Gathering at the NCM. The highlight of 2014 was displaying #27 at Corvettes at Carlisle for the 25th Anniversary Reunion. Mark's intention is to bring #27 back to the track in vintage racing, and educate Corvette enthusiasts about the historical significance of the Corvette Challenge Series.

Documentation:

Conveyed with #27 were the Challenge Series newsletters, race suit, helmet, log book, sponsorship information, full maintenance documentation, a total of 3 Challenge Series seats, PBR racing pads, and original Bilstein racing shocks.

Credentials: Original Logbook - raced Riverside and Sears Point.

Other interesting facts: Randy Pauly purchased #27 through Tom Bell Chevrolet, however ran as an independent. The Tom Bell livery was placed on his car as the Tom Bell pit crew assisted Randy at the track. Randy sought #27 for two reasons: it was black, and #27 was a tribute to his favorite F1 driver, Gilles Villeneuve, who also ran #27. #27 did not finish at Sears Point due to a flat tire, and was involved in a head-on collision with Lou Gigliotti, who spun out in front of him at Riverside.
