Other interesting facts:
The car that ran 2 races by Stu Hayner was in
the Las Vegas Collection for a few years.
Stu Hayner won the 1988 Corvette Challenge Series
running the number 98 car in that series, it was
requested by the 1989 sponsors to change to #1.
From Walt Thurn 1/22/2007: "I think Hayner
crashed his first 89 car at Dallas which is why
the team built the second car. The first car was
named "Flipper" by the crew because Stu
ran over a tire that came off of another car and
it rolled over onto the catch fence. Stu was unhurt
but the team sold the car to another competitor
who rebuilt it and raced it at the last race in
Sebring. Peter Lockhart spun out by Al Lang field
in the #11 car and "Flipper" torpedoed
Lockhart in the drivers door. "Flipper"
received extensive front end damage and had to be
towed back to the pits."
